Although it has been over a month since the last IEC TC57 WG10 (responsible for IEC 61850) meeting in Montpellier, France, it has taken that long to process the discussions that took place. Among the topics of interest were Basic Application Profiles, management of SCL schema revisions, power quality profiling, among other task force force meetings. The SCL task force was busy discussing the various ways to model the different bus configurations, and the 7-500 task force went through another set of revisions to this important task force. The testing task force started to classify the types of testing and the various testing methodologies, so this technical report is in motion. There were a number of other topics discussed such as – web based access, UML modeling, time syncing, conformance testing of system configuration tools, TISSUE process, ENSTO-E 61850 Initiative, IOP Results, modeling of FACTS, modeling of CBM, etc. There were also discussions on integrating IPV6 into SCL, which so far has only been done in 61805-90-5. All in all, Alstom did a fantastic job hosting this meeting, and it was a good time had by everyone. If you’re interested in any of the topics above, we would be happy to provide a full debrief. Next meeting is scheduled for Quebec City in June/2014, in which case we’ll provide a similar update for these discussions.
