Assisted in the electrical and mechanical installation of two Motanks for the #4 and #5 Electric Arc Furnaces (EAF), which includes the construction and commissioning of:
• On board hydraulic power pack complete with emergency accumulator
• One electric cable winder to allow electric power supply commands and signals to be transferred via multipolar cable to and from the local electric cabinet and Montank truck.
• One electric cabinet, including PLC and the necessary commands for maintenance operations, fixed on the cable winder support.
• On board junction box for the electric motor and sensors.
The Motank allows for the safe operation of the EAF by avoiding the use of a fork-lift manned unit. The machine – consisting of a remote controlled cart equipped with a horizontal arm – is intended to clear non-melted scrap and excess slag deposits from EAF slag tunnel prior to temperature or sample being taken by an automatic sampling and measuring lance manipulator.
