SCADA Engineer or Technologist

October 29, 2013 by Dustin Tessier In News & Projects No Comments

The candidate must be capable of independently designing and configuring at least one of the following vendor packages. They should also be proficient with commissioning tools such as IEDScout, GOOSE Inspector, Wireshark, etc.  The candidate should specify their experience with IEC 61850.

    1. GE (D400/D20)
    2. Cooper/Cybectec  (SMP16/Visual T&D)

Similar to the protection engineer, they should have experience in either transmission and/or distribution applications, however the key difference is their work will be focused on completing the detailed SCADA design drawings and configurations, with the support of the protection and substation design engineer. This candidate must have experience completing the “design-drafting” and preferably have used the Elecdes software tool. This person may also act as a project engineer at times, and assist with logistics, procurement, etc. If the candidate has experience with cyber-security and/or NERC CIP, that should be specified.
